The New Generation 2 show – Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia

I finally attended my first real fashion show last Friday – the New Generation 2 show part of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia which took place in Sydney. The New Generation Show 2 showcases new designers and I must say I. Loved. Every. Second. Of. It.

The clothes, the accessories, the models… amazing!

The designers featured in the New Generation 2 show were; LF Markey, Ash to Gold, Uscari, Susan Rep, Little Gracie, Aanchal Chanda and Luela.

One noticeable trend was that alot of the collections featured amazing prints.

My favourite pieces I would have to say were by Ash to Gold and Susan Rep. I loved the accessories the Ash to Gold models wore – these giant perspex style geometric bangles.

This kaftan by Susan Rep is just gorgeous. This would be the perfect versatile summer piece to take from the beach to dinner- can you tell I’m already thinking about my Santorini holiday?

P.s just a quick thank you to Every Girl’s Answer for some of the photos, this experience really highlighted my need for a new camera!

What to do with instagram photos?

I saw this instagram pillow by Sitchtagram last week and it got me thinking about what else you can do with instagram photos. And yes I am a little bit of an instagram addict…

So here are some other cool ways to display instagram photos that I found:

1:  Want to make cool stickers, T-shirts and mini books featuring your instagram photos? Check out Printstagram

2: Or how about fridge magnets? This is one of my fave ideas and they are available from Stickygram

3. Instagram Iphone cases from Casetagram are pretty awesome too

and if you really really love your instagram photos you could even preorder an Instaprint and print your instagram photos at home to put on display!

Gold leaf nails

My attempt at a gold leaf mani

I saw this tutorial on The Beauty Department Blog and decided to give it a try.

So what I learnt was don’t attempt this unless you have ALOT of patience and time! I’m glad I’d already decided before I started to only do two gold leaf accented nails.

Gold leaf is VERY delicate and crumbles/tears so easily!

That said I love the look of the gold leaf mani and whilst mine didn’t turn out as nice I’ll definitely try this again.

P.s the base colour I used was ‘My Chihuahua Bites’ by OPI – the same colour I used last week – still loving it!

Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme Review

On the weekend I purchased this cute little jar of Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme. I was on the look out for a hand cream as my hands are quite dry and I bought this particular one because I’ve read several good reviews about Burt’s Bees products. I also noticed later that the hand creme is 100% natural and not tested on animals which makes me feel even happier about my purchase.

I found the hand creme to be nice and thick with a pleasant fragrance which is not overpowering. I found I only had to apply a small amount to moisturise my hands as a little went a long way, which was quite good as the jar is fairly small.

The good thing about the small jar is that its a perfect size to leave in your handbag or keep at your desk which is what I did so I could apply it whenever my hands felt dry.

Using the Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme made my hands feel moisturised and soft. This product is something that I’ll be using everyday, especially as it gets colder here in Australia and I find my skin gets drier. I’m very happy that I decided to give Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme a try.

Available from Priceline, cost: approx $20

Light pink & dark pink/red nails

My nails are currently light pink and a dark pink almost red. I rather like the colours although I would never recommend the brand of the light pink nail polish that I used. It was terrible and so gluggy!

I however do love and recommend the OPI dark pink almost red nail polish I’m wearing. It’s called ‘My Chihuahua Bites’.

I think alternate nail colours is a quick and easy way to have fun nails without bothering with a nail art design.

Metal Collar Tips

Metal collar tips were everywhere last year – online that is. It was only yesterday that I saw a girl out in the city wearing a pastel pink shirt with gold coloured metal collar tips.

Perfect. Classic. Style.

Now I want to buy some collar tips and a collar shirt to wear them on.

Or DIY them…

Source: Honestly WTF - DIY Collar Tips

This DIY from Honestly WTF is perfect as the collar tips are easily removable so you can wear them on different shirts and you don’t have to commit to the style on one shirt. They also look fairly simple to DIY.

And in more collar love I stumbled across this ASOS collar necklace <3

How great would that look worn with a white top?

Amsterdam

I recently booked a trip to Italy & Greece for later in the year and it got me reminiscing about my 2010 trip to Europe.

Back then I went travelling with a friend and we went to Prague, Amsterdam, Berlin, Bruges, Brussels, London and Paris.

It was a very short trip but also a lot of fun and I can’t wait to go away again.

Anyway here are some random photos from my short time in Amsterdam:

At the tulip markets- Love the ceiling in this photo

The canals- I had no idea Amsterdam had so many canals

and bikes are everywhere

A photo of this place where food is dispensed from a wall vending machine kind of thing
